DescriptionAmbassador Eikenberry dedicates playground at Ghazni orphanage DVIDS350044.jpg |
English: Children of the orphanage take turns enjoying the slide while Musa Khan (left), provincial governor of Ghazni, watches during the playground dedication at the Ghazni City Orphanage in Ghazni City Dec. 15. The playground was donated by friends and family of U.S. Department of Agriculture advisor Tom “Big Daddy” Stefani who was killed in action by an improvised explosive device in Ghazni Province October 2007. During his time in Ghazni Province, Stefani worked with the Directorate of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation and Texas Agribusiness Development Team to create plans for poultry rearing facilities, tree farms, and improved grape production. While in the province, Stefani learned the orphanage in Ghazni City did not have enough toys or equipment. He immediately launched a plan to raise money from family and friends for a playground for the orphanage. |
