English: Portrait of Caterina Colonna (-1438), second wife of Guidantonio da Montefeltro (1377-1443)
Italiano: "Dopo la morte di Rengarda, la prima moglie, Guidantonio da Montefeltro sposò in seconde nozze Caterina Colonna, nipote del papa Martino V. L'opera databile al XVI secolo e circoscritta all'ambito dell'Italia Centrale , si trova ubicata presso il deposito superiore della Galleria Nazionale delle Marche. Si tratta del ritratto di Caterina Colonna, seconda moglie del duca Guidantonio da Montefeltro e madre di Oddantonio da Montefeltro, identificata dalla presenza di un cartiglio con iscrizione "CATHERINE COLUMNA II UXOR/ GUIDANT C. MON. F. DURANTIS URBI". Il dipinto fu realizzato molto tempo dopo la morte della duchessa, ma l'artista la rappresenta ancora in giovane età, presentandola con tutto lo sfarzo di una nobile donna . La figura emerge prepotentemente dall'ombra dello sfondo, rappresentata con uno splendido vestito rosso, riccamente ricamato, e sfoggia al collo un gioiello di perla bianca, e quello che sembra essere un rosario, insieme agli orecchini sempre in perla bianca" [1]
