| Description |
English: For the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, our AmeriCorps NCCC-Traditional Corps Composite team worked to clean up Matthew Henson Trail (Montgomery Parks) in Silver Spring, Maryland, in association with One Montgomery Green. The NCCC team removed trash from polluted grounds and sorted items into recyclables and non-recyclables.
The NCCC members then watched the Montgomery County MLK Day celebration. The county's residents virtually engaged with a presentation and submitted drawings of what they wanted the future to look like, what #MLKDay meant to them, and what Montgomery County meant to them. The NCCC members then sat together and talked about the presentation, what Dr. King's legacy meant to them, and the future they wanted to help create.
