Bell in Teakwood Frame Hunting Horn of Carved Teakwood Silk Screen with Teakwood Stand Supported by Dogs in such articles is stained black, giving it a dull effect likeebony, although in a few rare pieces the natural brown ofthe wood may be found, the colors varying from heart woodto sap wood. One of the more unique smaller articles is a card receiverof soapstone and teakwood. The wood is wrought in alotus design, while dragons, birds and leaves are elaboratelycarved upon the soapstone. A candlestick, which woulddoubtless be admired by the connoisseur, consists of threebronze dolphins supporting a single bronze lotus flower,resting on a teakwood stand carved in the form of lotusleaves. A small curio suggestive of the Orient is a bronzeincense burner. The metal is chased and the teakwoodstandard represents elaborately carved pomegranates.
