Description

Here's the question, if it takes 500 apples to make one pint of cider then how many pints are on display here? Mr. Power, cider manufacturer, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford has a yard full of cider apples for conversion into the liquid gold that is cider! Yet another interesting and local image from the Poole collection.

Apart from a delightful collection of apple-based puns, the fruits of today's labour include confirmation that this was indeed the premises of Thomas Power & Company of Dungarvan - "ciderists" and "fruit growers and manufacturers of jams & marmalade". We are reminded that we've actually met Mr. Power and family previously, but not visited this his core business before today.
