Description
Français : Description : Vue en direction nord-ouest de la façade sur la rue Saint-Jean d'un édifice situé au 1048, rue Saint-Jean, au coin de la rue Sainte-Angèle. Construit par la compagnie de téléphone Bell en 1898, selon les plans de l'architecte David Ouellet, cet édifice à deux étages en pierre a été doublé et exhaussé d'un troisième étage en brique en 1908 par le même architecte. Ce bâtiment est l'un des premiers à Québec à adopter l'esthétique de l'École de Chicago, en empruntant un répertoire formel et, surtout, un étagement typique des édifices commerciaux qui apparaissent aux États-Unis vers 1880-1890.
