Summary edit
DescriptionAncient Boat of Sea of Galilee.jpg |
English: The Ancient Galilee Boat, also known as the Jesus Boat, is an ancient fishing boat from the 1st century AD, discovered in 1986 on the north-west shore of the Sea of Galilee in Israel.12 The boat is 27 feet long, 7.5 feet wide, and has a maximum preserved height of 4.3 feet.2 It was discovered by two fishermen brothers, Moshe and Yuval Lufan, who stumbled across the oval outline of the buried boat on the north-west shore of the Sea of Galilee, about 1.5km north of Migdal, the home of Mary Magdalene.3 The boat matches the type of boats built at the time and was used by fishermen in the Sea of Galilee when Jesus began his ministry.1 |
