BEST SEEN LARGE www.greencorfu.com/index.php?page=plants I spotted this grove as we were driving from our resort for a spot of lunch at Kassiopi. I took half a dozen pictures of the trees here but, as is generally the case, the first one was the winner. For some unknown reason, Fate, serendipity, luck, the trees just seemed to fall into line and create the almost perfect echelon. This is one of my favourite pictures and is certainly in my 'Best Of' collection. These olive trees are over 300 hundred years old. Sadly, the trees are now much more beautiful than the fruit. This was taken one week after the last day of the 2005 Ashes series at the Oval. We flew to Corfu that day and I had a ticket for the final day. I really enjoyed this holiday but still haven't got over the shock of missing both the amazing days play and the celebrations afterwards. |
