| Description |
English: Specimen of latitic volcanic rock of the Möhrenbach Formation of the lowermost Rotliegend (Upper Pennsylvanian) of the Thuringian Forest. The specimen shows reddish brown phenocrysts of potassium feldspar within the whitish matrix of plagioclase. The greenish areas presumably consist of andesine. Near Möhrenbach, southeastern part of Thuringian Forest, central Germany.
Deutsch: Handstück eines latitischen Vulkanits der Möhrenbach-Formation des untersten Rotliegend (oberes Oberkarbon) des Thüringer Waldes. Das Handstück zeigt rötlich-braune Einsprenglinge aus Kalifeldspat in einer weißen Grundmasse aus Plagioklas. Die grünen Bereiche bestehen vermutlich aus Andesin. Nahe Möhrenbach, südöstlicher Thüringer Wald. |
