1904.Messrs. Rand, McNally & Co., Chicago, 111. Gentlemen: Was much grieved to receive yourannouncement of recent date conve3^ing the sad intelli-gence of the death of my old friend, Mr. Andrew McNally, and beg that you assure his family of my deepest sym-pathy and tender them my condolences. Your company has sustained an almost irreparableloss in the passing away of Mr. McNally, and his legionof friends, especially those in transportation circles, sincerely sympathize with his family and business asso-ciates. Buoyant in spirit, he was in love with life andhumanity; he was just in dealing with his fellow menand believed in the innate goodness of mankind; hisrule of life was the golden rule and his way of life theway of the golden rule; a good, upright, manly man inevery respect, a valued friend, and honorable acquaint-ance. In common with his host of friends I pay this tributeto his memory. Very truly, T. G. WiNNETT,(G. F. & P. A., Detroit & Mackinac Ry. Co.; 157 Celegrantfi
