eaved. Seed-coatsmany, one-feeded.See Malva reflexa, PI. CXXXV. Vol. II. SPECIFIC CHARACTER. Malva foliis lobatis, plicatis, dentatis, fcabridis;ramis ramulilque divaricatis, flexuolis. Mallow with lobed leaves, plaited, toothed, andrough; the large and fmall branches growftraddling, and zig-zagged. REFERENCE TO THE PLATE. 1. The double Cup. 2. A Flower fpread open, with the threads remaining. 3. The Chives cut open, and magnified. 4. The Seed-bud, Shaft, and Summits, magnified. As a lively, but little, green-houfe plant, this lpecies of Mallow has not many equals; and its pro-perty of continuing to flower from June, till December, mull confiderably enhance its value. It is anative of the Cape of Good Hope, and was introduced to us, about four years fince. Molt collectionsnow poffefs it, from its facility of increafe, may be planted in rich earth, and is increafed by cuttings,or feeds, which ripen perfeftly in this country.
