A fruit ranch, how-ever, about 3 miles above San Ildefonso, is beautifully fenced with barbed wire, forwhich, it is said by the people living in the neighborhood, the owner paid the Indiansabout one-fourth its value. I have reason to doubt if that proportion of its worthwas paid for it.
