Cyfit.H—Hydrocele.—An interesting case of hydrocele, in awoman 45 years of age, is reportcnl l)y Ch. lioersch. ^;^% Tliowoman presented, upon the right labium majora, a tumor of con-siderable size, extending toward the external inguinal canal, of ) DISEASES OF VAGINA AND EXTERNAL GENITALS. H-7 an elastic consistence, pseudo-fluctuating, painless, giving a heavysound upon percussion, and irreducible into the abdomen. Thistumor had developed within a year without any appreciable cause.Incision in the long axis of tlie tumor opened a cavity closed onall sides and filled with a lemon-yellow fluid. Floating in thisliquid was a small, elongated sac, thin and transparent, tilled witha colorless liquid, and adherent to the upper angle of the cavityof the hydrocele. This was evidently an old hernial sac, congeni-tal in origin ; adhesions had formed around the neck, between thehernial sac and the walls of the canal of Nuck, in which the V •iSH-r -111! it - I ->3t - . ♦•MS?^*£? ./

Large Cyst of the Right Labium. (Annals of Gyncecology and P<jediatrij.) hydrocele was secondarily developed. The cavity of the sac itselfhad become obstructed and transformed into a cyst. The smallcyst was excised and the cavity of the liydrocelc complelely closed bysutures in tiers. The operation was not followed by any reaction,and the patient left the hospital, twenty days later, completelycured. Labial cysts are reported by Martin, of Michigan Uni-versity, ^If and Hirst, of Philadelpliia, j^^ In Hirsts case the cystwas of the right labium, and on incision evacuated 28 ounces(780 grammes) of dark, cliocolate-colored fluid. The cystappeared after childbirth, and had been growing for nine years. H-8 BALDY. ( Urethra. URETHRA.
