e Townhad for its part of the work, the furnishing of the labor andmaterial necessary for the construction of a ten-inch drainwith suitable man-holes from the catch basins to Kings brook850 feet distant; the paving of the gutter three feet wide onbothsides of Burrill street, with granite blocks; and themacadamizing of the road-beds which were left from one totwo feet below grade. All other labor and material beingfurnished by the Boston & Maine Railroad Co. To carry onthis work as well as many other incidentals that constantlysuggested themselves, necessitated an expenditure muchlarger than was appropriated, and in fact much more than theTowns proportional part of the expenses will be. At thiswriting, the bills for the different parts of the work have notbeen audited, but we are led to believe that the whole cost ofthe improvement will not exceed thirty thousand dollars(^30,000) in which event the Town will be reimbursed allover three thousand dollars (;^3,ooo) it has expended.
