Description
English: "General MAP of CHINESE TARTARY Compiled from the Different Maps Made of the Places by the Rev. Fath. Jesuits and in the Different Memoirs of Fath. Gerbillon, by D'Anville, Geographer to the King", from the 1737 New Atlas of China, Chinese Tartary, and Tibet. Tartary was the period term for the lands of Asian nomads including the Mongols, Manchus, and Uyghurs and other Central Asian Turks. In D'Anville, it is also inclusive of Korea and Japan.
