Vichte heeft een rijk verleden dat nog spreekt uit de overgebleven stenen getuigen. Op het einde van de 11e eeuw schonk de graaf van Vlaanderen Robrecht II aan zijn ridder Goswin een mooie partij bos in leen, gelegen op de rechteroever van de "Fluviolum Fifta" of Vichtebeek. Omstreeks 1100 bouwde Goswin er een bescheiden kasteel. Het Oud Kasteel was bijna zes eeuwen lang het hoofdkwartier van het geslacht van der Vichte. Het oudste gedeelte is te situeren aan de achterzijde van het bestaande gebouw. Bij de brug die naar de binnenplaats leidt springt de merkwaardige toegangspoort meteen in het oog. Op de zijgevel van de 15e eeuwse schuur prijken de wapenschilden van Vichte en Vichte-Wieland die verwijzen naar de toenmalige heer en vrouw van Vichte. Naar verluidt was Karel V, de verwaarde keizer Karel, hier ooit te gast. Het kasteel zelt wordt nog bewoond en is niet toegankelijk voor het publiek.Français : Le Vieux Château d'Anzegem
Vichte a un riche passé qui se reflète encore dans les témoins de pierre restants. A la fin du XIe siècle, le comte de Flandre Robrecht II fit don d'un beau morceau de forêt à son chevalier Goswin, situé sur la rive droite du "Fluviolum Fifta" ou Vichtebeek. Vers 1100, Goswin y construisit un modeste château. Le Vieux Château fut le siège de la famille van der Vichte pendant près de six siècles. La partie la plus ancienne est située à l'arrière du bâtiment existant. Au niveau du pont qui mène à la cour, le remarquable portail d'entrée attire immédiatement le regard. La façade latérale de la grange du XVe siècle présente les armoiries de Vichte et de Vichte-Wieland, qui font référence au seigneur et à l'épouse de Vichte de l'époque. On raconte que Charles Quint, l'éminent empereur Charles, y fut autrefois un invité. Le château est toujours habité et n'est pas accessible au public. |
