Summary edit
DescriptionApproach to St Andrews Junction, Birmingham - geograph.org.uk - 1601387.jpg |
English: Approach to St Andrews Junction, Birmingham View of signal box ahead, DMU takes the curve around towards St Andrews junction, passing below (on right) is the (former Midland) line off towards Bromford and Water Orton. Ahead, under the power-lines above the front of the train is the electrified line toward Stechford and Coventry.
The returning curve from St Andrews junction can be seen on the right. I remember vividly the strong smell of paint from the works directly behind the route, and the squeeling noise the wheels made on the sharp turn. 'Sadly' most trains from Leamington / Stratford no longer enjoy this route. |
