English: Approaching Bwlch Cau A descent north from Craig Cau brings you to this point, where the path levels out; around the corner off the picture left it reaches Bwlch Cau proper, where the steep and sometimes tricky path direct from Llyn Cau reaches the ridge.
Note that the O.S. maps are incorrect in their placement of names at this point; Bwlch Cau is the col, the start of which is seen here, which connects Mynydd Pencoed to the main Cadair Idris massif, while Craig Cau is the great crag which forms the eastern end of Mynydd Pencoed, and whose top is the summit of that mountain. |
