NOTE: This image is a focus stacked image of Aquilegia vulgaris 'Alba' consisting of 27 images that were merged using Zerene Stacker Version 1.04 (licensed). As a result, this image underwent digital manipulation which may have included blending, blurring, cloning, and colour and perspective adjustments. As a result of these adjustments, the image content may be slightly different than reality at the points where the images were combined. This manipulation is often required due to lens, perspective, and parallax distortions.

Technical Details / Making of this Image edit
en:
- This focus stack is based on 27 individual images, all set to the optimum aperture 13 (valid for this 90 mm macro lens), and shutter speed 1/50 second.
- After an image was made the focus ring of the macro lens was manually rotated by approximately 0,5 mm by means of a home-made scale attached to the lens curvature before making the next image. This method, of course, requires a sturdy basis for the camera/lens combination.
- Main illumination by indirect sunlight from the window to the left and a styrofoam reflector close to the right. The centre was illuminated from the right by a 6 watt LED spotlight. As the sky was disappointingly drab, a sheet of light blue tinted copy paper had to serve as a neutral background for the white petals.
- All images were processed identically by one of my individually defined Adobe Lightroom presets before being handed over to the focus stacking software.
- Mandatory spot removal on the completed focus stack via Adobe Photoshop, then cropped to final size.
