TransplantationExperiments We may first consider a few of theresults obtained from transplantationexperiments. Beginning with Jensens brilliantwork on mouse cancer, in 1901-03,workers in many laboratories took upand diligently followed this lead, usingat first his mouse cancer and subse-quently many other forms of cancerfound in mice and rats and other ex-perimental animals, and to such an ex-tent that some cancer laboratories havehad as many as 20,000 mice underobservation at one time and often asmany as several thousand.
