Description

"This bicycle is one of the most significant machine in the museum's collection. It is built to a design by James Starley, the most important figure in Coventry's early cycle industry. It shows how Starley improved on the design of the Velocipede to develop the Ordinary or Penny Farthing bicycle. This machine was made by Haynes and Jeffries under license to Starley."
