According to http://www.ville-ge.ch/en/decouvrir/en-bref/armoiries.htm indicates that the armorial bearings of today arose for the first time in the 15th century. Moreover, the French version of this page, at http://www.ville-ge.ch/fr/decouvrir/en-bref/armoiries.htm, indicates that this design was fixed in the law in 1918. The image is from a law, and thus not protected in Switzerland. It is also likely to be in the public domain due to its age.
