DescriptionArmy 2020 PDS, the rest of the story 140212-A-CW513-136.jpg |
English: Staff Sgt. Melissa Schroeder (left) and Pfc. Tyler Glass (right), both assigned to the Physical Demands Study, Mortarman Platoon, Company D “Dragons,” 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment “Battle Boars,” 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, discuss the sight picture of the mortar tube while reacting to a simulated deflection scenario here at the Battle Boars’ motor pool, Feb. 12. This is just one small part of the rigorous train-up for the PDS that the Dragons have been spearheading. The desired result is that 2nd ABCT in conjunction with U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, and the U.S. Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine, will conduct a thorough evaluation, gathering as much data as possible, hopefully allowing the Army to develop "gender neutral physical standards." These validated standards are intended to shape future recruiting and accessions of both males and females into the evaluated Military Occupational Specialties. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. Richard Wrigley, 2nd ABCT, 3rd ID, Public Affairs NCO) |
