Description

A Barragem Cimeira, também conhecida como Barragem do Alvão, situa-se no coração do Parque Natural do Alvão, a uma altitude de 1060m. Este enorme espelho de água, construído na década de 40 e destinado ao regadio, é actualmente abrigo de dezenas de espécies animais, como por exemplo a lontra (Lutra lutra). Num dia calmo, o espectador mais atento poderá observar estes espécimes aproveitando o sol quente de altitude. A barragem situa-se cerca da vetusta Lamas De Olo e é um excelente local para uma caminhada, um piquenique ou apenas relaxar. Se as cores de um céu azul e o reflexo das nuvens dá ao local um toque tropical, o encanto das margens cobertas de neve são um espectáculo que não vai queres perder. Atenção que por vezes, no Inverno, o local fica intransitável, deverá informar-se antes de empreender a subida da serra.

Neste local começa também um interessante percurso circular que atravessa a serra até Lamas de Olo.
