Description
English: Arriva London special purposes fleet Routemaster bus RM6 (reg. VLT 6), operating London Buses route 159 on the last day of non-heritage Routemaster operation in London. As part of the special fleet, gold RM6 along with red RM5 were chosen to operate as duplicates of the official last Routemaster journey on the day, to be provided by another of the special fleet, red RM2217. This last service was to be a run from Marble Arch to Streatham Hill, Telford Avenue, a short working of route 159 terminating at the last stop before Arriva's Brixton bus garage, rather than the usual terminus of Streatham Station. RM2217 was due to leave at 12.10, with RM5 and then RM6 leaving a few minutes ahead of it. RM6 is pictured here operating the duplicate last service, coming around the Trafalgar Square roundabout. Having just passed the Northumberland Avenue entrance onto the roundabout, it's now indicating left to take the exit down Whitehall.
