| Description |
English: Arriving at Tunbridge Wells Central A class 207 diesel electric multiple unit (number 1305) emerges from the gloom of Grove Tunnel with a service from Uckfield to Tonbridge. This image was taken during the last weeks of service on this route - the line between Tunbridge Wells and Eridge being closed to passengers on 6th July 1985. Grove Junction at the other end of the tunnel was immediately removed as part of the Hastings line upgrade. Work was already in progress as evidenced by the missing up line which was in the process of being renewed through the tunnel. |
