Jagatram is an ancient historically important and heritage place located near Vikasnagar, Dehradun. Jagatram is situated at 6 km distance from Vikasnagar and is quite popular for very old horse sacrifice site. This famous spot is now under the custody of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). History of Jagatram – the Ancient place About 1st to 5th century AD, Jagatram and other places like Lakhamandal, Haripur were under the care of Vermans Clan. During the 3 AD, one of the Verman Kings named 'Sil Verman' makes 4 customs known as ‘Ashwamegha Yagya’. In these customs he did horse sacrifices to found his power. Out of the four locations, three locations have been discovered except 4th which is still to be found. Way to arrive at Jagatram Vikasnagar, Dehradun Jagatram is situated about distance of 7 km from Vikasnagar in Kalsi road nearby Banwala. Tourists can easily reach Jagatram by hiring local bus or taxi from Vikasnagar. Nearby railway station to arrive at Jagatram is Dehradun Railway Station which is at the distance of 38 kms and nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport which is at distance of 65 kms from this place.![]()
