Summary

edit
Description I'm not 100% sure of the origins of this cycle trishaw. Singapore used them long, long ago (called jainrickshaws). China and Philippines use them as well, though I think the Philippines version is motorized. Pattaya in Thailand is in fact famous for them even now, and a trishaw ride around Georgetown is highly recommended. So suffice to say such trishawas were used in some Asian countries. The ones in India were of the different design: they do not follow this sidecar pattern, rather the passenger area is set directly behind the driver. (Ottawa, Canada, Dec. 2012)
