Description

Excavations in progress at one part of the site of Bunhwangsa, a Buddhist temple that no longer exists.

Historical sites like these are everywhere in Gyeongju, and with archaeology being an unaffordable luxury in South Korea until the 1970s, excavations of historical sites did not begin until then, and some sites are still waiting to be fully excavated and studied.
