Français : Burgio, Caltagirone, Santo Stefano di Camastra, Sciacca les Quatre villes de Sicile bénéficient aujourd'hui de l'appellation "Céramique Artistique Traditionnelle". L'art de la majolique se retrouve sur les albarello (vases), les pommes de pins, les "Testa", les carreaux , les fresques, la vaisselle...
Faïences décorées de peintures siciliennes typiques reprises de l'antique tradition. Comme sur les charrettes siciliennes, elles peuvent conter les légendes et l'histoire de l'île. Si la plupart sont aujourd'hui de production industrielle, on trouve encore de petits artisans qui réalisent des faïences de qualité rigoureusement faites à la main. Les couleurs sont traditionnellement bleu, verte, jaune, orange et turquoise . |
