Description During her first extravehicular activity (EVA) session, Kathryn C. Thornton was photographed by one of her crewmates in the shirtsleeve environment inside the Space Shuttle Endeavour. Thomas D. Akers (seen in the background at the lower right) were performing servicing tasks on the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) in December 1993. This EVA was the second of five performed during the eleven-day STS-61 mission.
