English: Athena Nike Temple. Parapet. South slab V. Nikai, Ακρ. 7098, Agorakritos' workshop, Around 410 BC.

Slab from the south side of the parapet constructed around the Temple of Athena Nike. It consists of five fragments found successively over the course of the 20th century and mended during the 1980s.

Two winged Nikai

lead a sacrificial bull. The standing Nike on the viewer’s left would have held the animal by its horns whereas the second Nike tries to restrain it with a rope once rendered in colour. The bull resists with its forelegs in the air while the Nike tries to keep her balance by bracing her right leg against a rock. Both Nikai wear a long belted

peplos. Adjusted in the drills still visible on the belt of the right Nike was a metal fibula.
