Summary edit

Description

The map shows areas that contain female Ailanthus

represented by the dark green areas. As of 12/2013, the Wayne National Forest, Athens Ranger District- Marietta Unit has been particularly hard-hit with almost 3,000 female Ailanthus aerially mapped across over 123,000 acres. This is an underestimation of the total Ailanthus population because male trees were not mapped. Forested land surrounding the Wayne National Forest has also been invaded by Ailanthus. As of 12/2013, over 78,000 acres of private lands within the Marietta Unit, 1,230 female Ailanthus were aerially mapped. (Map courtesy of Wayne National Forest)
