Français : Schéma des couches de l'atmosphère terrestre (à l'echelle). La stratosphère (~50 km) ne compte que pour un peu moins de 1% du rayon de la terre. On considère que l'exosphère visible (observable depuis l'espace) s'étend jusqu'à ~100 000 km.

English: Earth atmosphere diagram (layers are to scale). From Earth's surface to the top of the stratosphere (~50km) is just under 1% of Earth's radius. Visible exosphere is considered extended to approx. 60,000 miles.
