Summary edit

Description The 6th generation of NBS Atomic Frequency Standards, NBS-6, was at the time of its unveiling the most accurate atomic clock NBS had developed to date. It had an accuracy of about one part in 10^13, and incorporated many new features to improve its research capabilities, operating life, and ease of operation. This insturment was the heart of the NBS Atomic Clock System, which also included other atomic frequency standards and clocks, a computer, and instrumentation used to intercompare the various components.
