Description
Deutsch: Ehemaliger Steinbruch (Paläologisches Bodendenkmal) südlich der Ziegelei am Westhang des Linken-Berges im Wiehengebirge.

Der Aufschluss zeigt etwa einen Nord-Süd-Schnitt des Linken mit von Süd nach Nord um 45° (scheinbar) fallenden Schichten; er mag die geologische Ausgangssituation bei Bildung der Pforte zur Oldendorfer Schweiz verdeutlichen sowie die geologische Beschaffenheit der Nordegge.

Der Wechsel harter und weicher Schichten begünstigt die Erosion erheblich, wie sie im oberen Teilbild auf kleiner Skala angedeutet ist, vgl. Bildung von Schichtstufen. Gute Natursteine wurden aus den Stufenbildnern gewonnen, s. unten.

Wirtschaftliche Bedeutung: Der Steinbruch lieferte der 1904 gegründeten Dampfziegelei Schieferton; auch gebrannter und gelöschter Kalk sowie Bruchsteine wurden angeboten. In Loren einer Bremsbahn gelangte das Material auf kurzem, steilem Wege zur Ziegelei. 1937 war Schieferton genügender Qualität nicht mehr vorhanden und die entferntere Tongrube mit der ehemaligen Drahtseilbahnstation wurde erschlossen an der Bergstraße, Preußisch Oldendorf.[1]
