Summary edit

Description
English: What range do I want per charge? What's the budget? What about the battery weight? All these questions (and many more) will be answered in this video, before the Austin Allegro EV conversion begins.

The biggest problems to overcome will be the installation of a Nissan Leaf motor and the manufacture of new drive shafts. Once that's done, I then have to figure out the weight of the batteries and how to spread the load evenly as not to upset the car's hydragas suspension system. And then of course there's the issue of finding a place to start the conversion!

And while I'm planning on using LiFePO4 batteries, but I haven't quite decided on the ideal pack size just yet. I reckon that a 16 kWh battery pack would weigh in at a comfortable 150 kg, and should offer at least 100 km of range, but the problem is finding places to store the batteries and spreading out the weight evenly.

All these problems are overcome-able(?) but it'll take time and money, so be patient! And feel free to offer any advice or suggestions. I might not reply to every person, but I'll definitely read every comment and take all ideas onboard.

Cheers!
