orming the main triple-arched entrance, with anopen colonade in the second story, is finished with a lowpediment enriched with a highly elaborate bas-relief. Thecorner pavilions have each an open colonade added abovethe main cornice. Here are located the Hanging Gardens. A lobby 40 feet wide leads into the open rotunda, 70 by 65feet, reaching through the height of the building and pro-tected by a richly ornamented skylight. This rotunda issurrounded by a two-story open arcade, as delicate and chastein design as the exterior, the whole having a thoroughlyItalian courtyard effect, admitting abundance of light to allrooms facing this interior space. On the first floor are lo-cated, on the left hand, a model hospital; on the right a modelkindergarten; each occupying 80 by 60 feet. The whole floor of the south pavilion is devoted to theretrospective exhibit; the one on the north end to reformwork and charity organization. The curtain opposite the main front contains theLibrary, Bureau of Information, records, etc. In the second story are located ladies parlors, committeerooms and dressing-rooms, all leading to the open balcony infront. The whole second floor of the north pavilion enclosesthe great assembly-room and club-room. The first of these issupplied with an elevated stage for the accommodation ofspeakers. The south pavilion contains the model kitchenrefreshment rooms, reception rooms, etc. The building is encased with staff; the same materialused on the rest of the buildings, and as it stands with itsmellow, decorated walls bathed in the bright sunshine, thewomen of the country can be justly proud of the result. Looking further southward the eye of the visitor meetsthe beautiful dome of the Agricultural BuildingâImmediately south of theentrance to Jackson Park from the Midway Plaisance, andfacing east on the lagoon, is the Horticultural Buildingâ
