| Description |
This year was the first time as a primarily nature photographer that I actually took advantage and went out to shoot during fall color. I think the reason I avoided it in the past was because I was so laser focused on creating a very certain type of image to the exclusion of all others. This single mindedness also created a huge amount of stress and removed much of the enjoyment of the actual process of photography, which is the main reason I do it. Well, a new camera and a year away has given me a fresh perspective and as a result I've been much happier. I've found that by just going out, observing and being creative without expectation has reinvigorated my passion in nature photography and appreciation of nature. I enjoy capturing the quiet scenes perhaps even more than the explosive Instagram crowd-pleasers, but I still love those too, of course. Anyways, this was from my last outing to Silver Falls State Park at the height of fall color. |
