Summary edit

Description
English: Autumn sun on the dismantled railway Behind The Croft, Measham, the Ivanhoe Trail runs towards Donisthorpe. Formerly the Ashby and Nuneaton joint railway it ran alongside the Ashby Canal briefly at this point. The railway company bought out the canal company to stifle its competition in carrying black gold (coal) from the pits at Donisthorpe and Moira. Ironically whilst the railway is no more, the canal survived in part and is the subject of an ambitious restoration scheme which will see it steal some of the railway bed for its slightly revised route.
