Description

c/n 33785. The C.19 was a postwar transport and communications variant of the faithfull ‘Annie’ of which 264 were built. The example was originally built for the RAF as TX213 and served until 1968 when it became G-AWRS. Among other operators it then flew for Kemps Aerial Surveys, before being acquired by Sir William Roberts in 1974 to become part of the ‘Strathallan Collection’. It is now under long term restoration in the main hangar at the North East Land, Sea & Air Museums (NELSAM), Sunderland, Tyne & Wear, UK. 11th September 2017.

The ‘Air-Britain Anson File’ gives the following military history for TX213:-

“RCCF (RCA-P) Reserve Command Communications Flight 61 Sqn. Group Communications Flight (RCE-Z) CSE Central Signals Establishment 527 Sqn.

2 Sqn. Group Communications Flight 2nd Tactical Air Force Communications Squadron 18 Sqn. Group Communications Flight (X) OCTU Jurby Western Communication Squadron WCS

Sold 6/9/1968 became G-AWRS”
