| Description |
English: King Naresuan, the Great, also known as the “Black Prince”, who proclaimed the independence from Burmese colonialism in the Ayutthaya Kingdom. The monument is situated on Ayutthaya-Ang Thong road, PhraNakorn Si Ayutthaya district in the area called “Tung PhuKhao Thong” which is located in the north of Ayutthaya City.The west of the monument is WatKok Phraya, the east is the large reservoir due to H.M. the king project and the south-west is ChediPhukhao Thong.
It was established between 1995-1999 at a battle sitein order to honor King Naresuan and to mark the great occasion of H.M. KingBhumibolAdulyadej’s golden jubilee celebrations. The monument displays King Naresuan’s victory over theduel on horseback with King Nanda Bayin’s highly skilled warrior “LakWaiTammu”, caused the defeated of King Nanda Bayin’s army. |
