Description
English: Wat Kasattrathirat Worawihan, originally Wat Kasattraram or Wat Kusittraram, is located on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River in Ban Pom sub-district, PhraNakorn Si Ayutthaya district. This temple was built in the Ayutthaya Era, but the creator is unknown. It is, however, presumed that it was built by a king or a royal family member. The name of the temple was changed to “Wat Kasattrathirat” in the reign of King Rama V. The ubosot at Wat Kasattrathirat Worawihan houses a Buddhist image “Phra Phuttha Kasattrathirat” (in subduing mara position). The temple also displays an image of King Naresuan’s master “Somdet Phra Panarat”, also called “Luang Por Kae” by the locals. It is believed that those who come to pay homage will receive what they pray for.
