Einfach wunderschön sind diese hölzernen Ornamente. Die Gemeinde Göhren liegt auf der Halbinsel Mönchgut im Südosten der Insel Rügen. Göhren wurde 1165 erstmals erwähnt. Ab 1326 Teil des Fürstentums Rügen. Ab 1648 gehörte Rügen zu Schwedisch-Pommern. Göhren entwickelte sich im 19. Jh. zu einem der bedeutendsten Ostseebäder. Der Bau einer Schmalspurbahn sorgte ab 1899 zu einer weiteren Entwicklung des Tourismus. Zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten des Ortes gehören die Seebrücke, mehr als 5 km langer und 30 m breiter Strand und natürlich die sog. Bäder-Architektur. Haupteinnahmequelle ist natürlich der Tourismus. Fischerei spielt keine große Rolle mehr. Seit der »Wende« wurde viel renoviert - vor allem die in der Bäder-Architektur errichteten Bauten wurden mit viel Liebe restauriert. |
