Description
English: A Boeing B-29-96-BW Superfortress (s/n 45-21801) from the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) in flight. NACA Langley used this modified B-29 to drop weighted test models from altitudes of 10,000 to 12,000 metres to study aerodynamic forces at transonic and supersonic speeds. It was in use by the NACA from 1945 to 1955.
