English: Babukung is a traditional mask dance typical of the Tomun Dayak Tribe in Lamandau Regency. The mask used in this dance has a distinctive feature, which is in the form of a certain animal called Luha. The dancers are referred to as Bukung who usually come from neighboring villages or community groups. The staging of Babukung Dance is usually on the traditional ritual of death. The goal is to comfort bereaved families while providing assistance. Now, Lamandau Local Government has raised Babukung Dance as an annual festival that can be attended by nearly 1000 people.
