Description (a) Bacillus cereus. The cells were washed with distilled water and oven-dried at 40°C. The cells are flattened, shrunken and covered with a layer of dried mucus. (b) Bacillus cereus. The cells were air-dried using the HMDS protocol as described in 4.1.2b. The cells appear well rounded and fulsome while the dividing cells are well exposed.
