English: Lead

This object is possibly a Kosher meat seal, see Egan No. 356 Fig.47 Lead Cloth Seals and Related Items in the BM; an observation kindly offered by Stu E; it was originally identified as a bag seal. Cast pair of discs connected by a sprue and clenched together, with ferrous corrosion incorporated. The larger disc bears the letters -OT*- the star being five-pointed. Suggested date: Modern, 1800-1900.
