Corner (Placht) building. Built in 1872-1874. Arcchitect: Antal Weber. Built to József Placht. Contractor/builder: József Pucher. - Part of a listed building complex. The building worked as a sanatorium till WW2, but the first two floors were mainly reserved for law firms. On the top floor was a girl's boarding house. Corner part decorated with sculptures. Saircase with cast iron and wrought iron elements. In the lobby? gateway? a wall fountain. Part of a listed building complex and a local grade listed too. In 1865, in the U-shaped corner building that had previously stood here, there was Károly Peller's photographic studio. In the new building, before the war (WW2 ?), Imre Salgó's tool shop was located here. Under WW2 the groundfloor shop owner János Bornemissza hid the Jews in the walled part of his shop. The predecessor of the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers, the Association of Private Engineers: Antal Glasner, President; Géza Goda, Managing Director; Gyula Kubik, Miksa Schiffer, was registered here. - Among the inhabitants of the house before World War II were: Mór Falk, money broker and merchant of the Falk and Guttmann firm (1895); Gábor Szabó bailiff, Lajos Gerő typologist; Antal Radó, writer and editor; Alder Samu is a private official. A Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út és a Hajós utca találkozásánál lévő sarokház, más néven Placht-ház Wéber Antal kiemelkedő munkája, a neoreneszánsz irányzat egyik mintapéldája. A szobrokkal díszített sarokhomlokzata van. A házba belépve a lépcsőház kovácsoltvas elemei mellett az előteret egy falikút díszíti. A ház egykori lakója volt József Attila is. Épült: 1872-1874 (u.itt. 1876), Weber Antal építész/ Placht József építettő/ Pucher József építő. - Fővárosi védettségű épületegyüttes tagja azonosító: -7949 és Terézváros Önkormányzata Képviselő-testületének 33/2017. (XII. 21.) rendelete alapján az épület helyi egyedi védelem alatt is. 1865-ben a korábban itt állt U-alakú saroképületben volt Pleger Károly fényképészműterme. Az új épületben a háború (II.vh.) előtt itt volt Salgó Imre szerszám boltja. A II. világháborúban Bornemissza János fűszerkereskedésében bújtatta a zsidókat. A Magyar Mérnöki Kamara elődje, a Magánmérnőkök szövetsége /igazgatósága: Glasner Antal elnök, Goda Géza ügyvezető igazgató, Kubik Gyula Schiffer Miksa / ide volt bejegyezve. A ház II. vh. előtti lakói között volt: Falk Mór a Falk és Guttmann cég pénzügynöke és kereskedő lakott (1895); Szabó Gábor végrahajtó, Gerő Lajos cípész; Radó Antal író és szerkesztő; Alder Samu magánhivatalnok. - A telket 1868-ban vette meg Placht József kereskedő és bérházak tulajdnosa és neje Brückman Magdolna. Az ingatlant 1888-ban Herzfelder Hermannn, Herzfelder Margit és Steiner Margit örökölte meg. Placht József házai: VI. Hajós utca 30 (Tervező: Wieser Ferenc); VII. Izabella utca 42 = Király utca 91 (Tervező: Pistori Károly), Svábhegy villaépület (Tervező: Pucher József) - [1]. 2023-ban a ház pincéjében festmény galéria müködik. - Budapest100 2023.
