Description
English: A young one finishing an offered banana. The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary is one of the prime things to see around Ubud where Balinese Macaque monkeys (also known as long-tail macaques) are protected. Over 500 macaques reportedly live in the sanctuary. The monkeys are very important to the Balinese culture, reflected in their dances, stories and statues. More than a tourist attraction, the forest is consider a holy area Wenara Wana.
